About a month and a half ago, I was expecting a guy that I was dating to arrive in Miami at a certain time. After hours passed and he was late, I was a little concerned. You know how it goes, from a little concerned, to downright angry. He was supposed to be here at night. If he couldn't get out of the meeting, he was going to sleep for a few hours and drive down to be here when I woke up at 8:00.

Well night fall came and went as did 8:00am. When I finally reached him, he was just checking out of his hotel in Orlando and was going to be here soon. (Mind you, it was already 11:00 am and his flight was scheduled to leave Miami at 6:00). Needless to say, I was pretty angry and had half the mind to tell him not to even come. But, I refrained.

At any rate, we were walking from the parking garage to the airport. Since he was so late, we got to spend our quality time in the terminal waiting for his departure. As we walked over, I said to him, jokingly "I'll forgive you this one time. And I'm sure you won't be so inconsiderate." After he apologized, I said "Don't worry. I can be bribed with gifts!" At that time, he started to negotiate his apology! Now, I agree that you should try to negotiate anything and everything that you can, but there are times when common sense must take over!

Men... you must NEVER, EVER try to negotiate when you have done something to anger a woman. It is at this time that you smile, apologize and just let us run our course. Negotiating with an upset woman will never get you anywhere!
